¡@¡@Mr.
Liu, Ting-Tusan was born in Taiwan in 1959. During his childhood, there
was nothing special in his house. He was a curious child, so he often
picked up items from outside. He liked to take these items apart and
study them. Then, he reassembled the different pieces into a new work.
He spent much of his elementary and junior high school years doing this.

No one like the smell of the engine oil, but I did when I was a child,"
said Liu Ting-Tusan. Perhaps it's a natural instinct. After graduating
from junior high school, Liu Ting-Tusan studied mechanics and learned
to take apart the ships in a shipyard. Then, he worked for a power plant
as a mechanic. He also learned lathe, and bench work at a pattern-metal
factor. Furthermore, he studied electric welding and cold work. During
his three-year military service, he served in the air force. He participated
in creating models of the IDF fighters. After being demobilized, he
tried to grow potted plants. At the same time, he took part in building
the China steel company and a shipyard for construction of submarines.
At the end, he participated in the southern railway construction. During
this time he became knowledgeable in stone sculpture in Taitong.
¡@¡@After coming back to Kaohsiung, he opened a factory for one and a
half years. Then he moved to Da Liao and started his long career in
steel-sculpture. In 2000, he focused on steel-sculpture. He was sure
that this was his career. After that, he devoted his life to creating
a city of steel-sculpture and to beautifying Kaohsiung, the city of
steel and iron.
